If photography is your passion and you enjoy a cruise vacation, why not combine the two. Many of the major cruise lines are now offering photography themed cruises, hosted by professional photographers.  Guests are given the opportunity to learn a wide range of photography skills including exposure, composition, digital editing and alternatives for for displaying  photos. While in port, the pros often accompany guests on shore excursions in order to provide hands-on practice of the skills learned onboard. In addition to the themed cruises, many cruise lines offer photography classes on sea days. Norwegian Cruise Line offers classes as part of its new NCL-U program aboard the Norwegian Jade. Holland America has just recently announced the HAL Microsoft Digital Workshop. This program will have its own dedicated space onboard and offer classes and instruction on digital photography and videography. Oceania and Cunard offer Photoshop classes. Celebrity offers both photography and digital darkroom classes. Many cruise lines offer photography excursions while in port during which a local pro will take a group of guests to some off-the-beaten-path locations and offer instruction and tips.
